Ever dreamed of crafting your own knife? Join our intro to bladesmithing class to learn the fundamentals of forging, heat treating high carbon steels, grinding bevels, and sharpening. By the end of the day, you'll own a hand-forged Paring or Utility knife you made yourself! This class serves as a prerequisite for others, except the two-day intro that includes wooden handle making. You can take it privately or with a friend. In one day, you'll create a one-piece steel, fully functional knife. If you want a wooden handle, book the two-day class. Classes are scheduled post-payment, typically Monday through Friday. Reach out with preferred dates before purchasing. A paring knife is ideal for kitchen tasks, while a utility knife is versatile for outdoor use. You'll learn to forge by hand, shape hot steel, control tongs, and use hammers effectively. Then, master heat treating, hardening, tempering steel, bevel grinding, finishing textures, and basic sharpening. The one-day class runs from 9AM to finish, usually between 3-6PM.

  • Manual Anvil Forging: Learn to use a hammer on an anvil
  • Manipulate Hot Steel: Master tong control for shaping
  • Stress Relief: Understand and apply stress relief techniques

  • Steel Tempering: Master the art of tempering steel
  • Bevel Grinding: Learn to grind bevels
